Slowpitch JOURNEY

How did you get into slowpitch?
After finishing up my college softball career, one of the baseball coaches at my school asked me if I wanted to play on his coed slowpitch team for leagues. I said yes, and I've been playing ever since.

What keeps you motivated year after year?
Softball is my escape; it is where I can go to find peace and forget about everything else for a little while. My motivation every year is just to keep being able to play the sport that I love.

When did it become competitive for you?
The game has always been competitive for me; however, when I began playing sanctioned tournaments in 2021, I started taking the game way more serious.

What got you hooked?
I had played softball my entire life, so I essentially just transitioned from fastpitch to slowpitch after my college career was over!

Why I Love THE GAME

What slowpitch means to you beyond wins and losses?
When I started playing slowpitch after college, I was able to branch out in my community and meet a lot of people in the surrounding areas. I was able to build connections and establish friendships with many people that I now consider my extended family.

When I started playing travel slowpitch, I was able to expand my community even further and experience how different areas of the country play the sport I love. I loved making new connections with people and it became even more of an escape for me on the weekends. This also allowed me to grow as a player and improve my game by learning from others.

Once I started playing Conference Slowpitch, a void was filled in me that I never even realized was there. It gave me the intense competition that I had been missing since retiring from fastpitch, while also giving me a large supportive community that shares my passion for the game.

Why Slugger

What does the brand represent to you?
For me, the brand represents consistency, innovation, respect, and integrity.

What do you love about the bats?
I love the consistency that our bats have as well as the feel of the bats in my hand.

When did you first swing a slugger bat?
I first started swinging Slugger in middle school for fastpitch. I stuck with Slugger all through high school and college as well. When it came time to pick a bat for slowpitch, naturally I went with Slugger!

OFF THE Field

I am a pharmacist off the field; I spend most of my non-softball time either working or spending time with my huskies or my friends!
