How did you get into slowpitch?
My dad had always played slow pitch as I was growing up. As soon as I finished playing college ball, his league teams were asking me out to play.

When did it become competitive for you?
I was asked to play in my first women's tournament in Las Vegas; an All Hispanic Worlds tournament with teams from all over the West Coast. I had only played in my local women's league up until this point.

To see the level of play at this tournament got me excited about playing slow pitch. The talent and competitive spirit reminded me of fast pitch.

What got you hooked?
My husband got into slow pitch at the same time that I did. Once we started playing in leagues, we spent our 'dates' hitting BP. Then we quickly got into playing tournaments and we were hooked. Taking 4-8 hour road trips every other weekend to play coed with our friends.

What keeps you motivated year after year?
The love of the game.
I simply do not know a life without softball.

What slowpitch means to you beyond wins and losses?
When I started, it was a great way to transition from the competition of fast pitch. From the age of 7 I was playing softball every weekend and my idea of 'vacationing' was going to a tournament.
Playing Conference Slowpitch is as close as I think you can get to the feeling of college competition and the years I spent at that level have made me a strong and confident player.
In the past two years it has changed so much for me. I have stepped back from playing Conference ball to raise and grow my family. Taking the break from Conference has allowed me to play in a local women's league (which I didn't have time for before) and slowpitch is a lot more about community and friendships now. I get together with the girls from my league weekly for batting practice, I give lessons to those that ask for individual help, and some of us go golfing or play pickle ball.

When did you first swing a slugger bat?
I always tell people it was fate. Haha
In 2017, I had recently moved to NV and I was sitting in a church service when I received a text message. I usually ignore my phone (honest) but for some reason I read the message: 'Hey, someone on our team got hurt. Can you play today?' It was from a girl I had played with when I lived in Utah. So I got all the details and went right after church.

It was an All Native Worlds Tournament and they had already played and won 2 games.
We played another 4 games. I was swinging a 27oz Dale Brungardt Demarini Futures bat that day and feeling pretty good. Jason Strebig approached me during one of those games and asked if I had ever swung slugger. From there we talked about being a part of the Slugger Advisory Staff. My first slugger bats arrived in the mail shortly after and THAT is when I swung my first slugger bat... The rest is history. #sluggerloyal

What does the brand represent to you?
In my eyes, the brand represents growth and consistency.

What do you love about the bats?
After being with Slugger for so many years I have seen the technology change so much.
The bats are hot right out the wrapper and they are durable. From the first swing to the thousandth, I love my Slugger bats.

Off the field I'm spending all of my time with my family. I have 2.5 year old and a hound dog that keep me very busy.

Advice for new players?
Always be open to playing new positions and if you want to play at the highest level you have to put in extra work.

Advice for competitive players chasing the next level?
Never underestimate the power of tee work and visualization. Being a consistent hitter starts with consistent hitting.
